As an Employee/Industrial Relations Specialist, you'll be the go-to advisor for all things employee relations. You'll play a pivotal role in building organisational capability and supporting leaders to cultivate a positive work environment. Your expertise will guide managers through complex employee relations matters, ensuring consistent, timely, and credible advice.
This is a full-time permanent position based at our South Guildford office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trusted Advisor: Provide strategic and tactical advice on escalated employee relations enquiries.
- Enterprise Agreement Negotiation: Lead and support negotiations, contributing to business strategy and dispute resolution.
- Specialist Advice: Offer expert guidance on performance, misconduct, and grievance management.
- Case Management: Maintain ownership of cases, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
- End-to-End Support: Partner with line managers to coach and support them through complex issues.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including unions and regulators.
To be successful the following is required:
- Tertiary degree in, HR, IR, Law or related disciplines, or actively undertaking HR/IR studies.
- Previous experience in employee or industrial relations, handling both white and blue-collar matters.
- Previous experience in actively negotiating Enterprise Agreements.
- Previous experience with dispute handing and union interaction.
- Strong ability to build rapport, manage conflicts, and foster relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient understanding of the industry and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, providing accurate and effective advice.
- Excellent decision-making skills, balancing commercial needs with fairness and impartiality.
- High ethical standards, maintaining sensitivity, diplomacy, and tact in all situations.
- Agile and flexible, capable of managing multiple priorities in a changing environment.
- Proficient in analysing complex data to make informed business decisions, with experience in managing intricate cases.
