About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Marine Fitter/ Mechanic/ Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, repairing, refurbishing, and replacing propulsion and positioning systems on marine vessels. This role requires a solid mechanical background, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical advice, support, and expertise as needed.
• Service, repair, refurbish, and replace key marine components, including:
  • Engines (with a focus on marine diesel engines)
  • Turbochargers
  • Clutches
  • Gearboxes
  • Drive shafts and drive couplings
  • Bearings and seals
  • Propellers and rudders
• Actively participate in all workshop communications
• Establish designated work areas within the workshop for small projects, ensuring full compliance with all Work Health, Safety & Environment (WHS&E) regulations.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on all equipment before use.

Requirements:

• Must hold a relevant Trade Qualification/Certificate.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience working with marine engines and mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of marine propulsion and positioning systems.
• Familiarity with mechanical plant and marine vessel components.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Forklift, Dogging, EWP, and First Aid tickets will be advantageous.
