Star Hotel Bright - Duty Manager

We are hiring, and we are bloody excited about it! With our offering expanding daily we’re on the hunt for a new rock star to join our Star Hotel Family as duty manager.

A bit about us…

Nestled amongst the beautiful surrounding mountains; Mt Buffalo, Mt Hotham, and Falls Creek, Bright is the perfect destination for a weekend or a whole week.  Bright is beautiful all year round, from lazy summer afternoons cooling off in the Ovens river, to watching the leaves change colour throughout the seasons.

The Star Hotel has been a favourite for Bright locals and visitors  for as long as we can remember. With a great country ‘pub’ menu, laid back bars to enjoy a bevy, event spaces and even trivia and community nights – there’s always something going on at this ol pub.

So we are now looking forward to welcoming a new Duty Manager to join our pub family. 

A bit about you….

We are looking for a Duty Manager that is outgoing and relaxed with solid pub or hospitality experience under their belt.  

• You will be the type of person who thrives on making things happen. 
• You are strategic and intentional, and once you are clear on the direction to take, you pursue it with dogged tenacity. 
• You are an influencer and persuader and love to chase down an opportunity. 
• You are a strong communicator who is very comfortable making it ‘happen’ in less-than-ideal circumstances & are not fazed by a random curve ball.
• You need to have a big smile & a positive attitude we can show you the ropes for the rest. 
• Must have or be willing to obtain RSA, TAB basics & gaming licence - we can help you with these!  
• People enjoy being around you because of your charismatic, caring and positive nature. You like to have fun and are supported by a strong social network.

A bit about the role….

• This is a hands-on role that will see you overseeing all areas of the pub.  Managing the bar, service and dining room
• Helping out in events – engaging with locals and overall creating a fun and enthusiastic work environment for the team at large
• As part of the leadership team, you will also help drive sales, manage costs, and develop, train and mentor staff.
