Position: Workshop Supervisor

Location: Keith, South Australia

Job Purpose:

As a Workshop Supervisor, you will work closely with the South Australian Fleet Maintenance Manager, National Fleet Maintenance Manager, SA State Manager and Operations Team. 

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling and overseeing all maintenance in and around Keith depot; including surrounding depots
  • Oversee and organise maintenance staff
  • Conducting maintenance of buses, trailers, cars, yard, and all equipment.
  • Ensuring repairs meet safety and roadworthiness standards.
  • Complying with WH&S standards for a safe work environment.
  • Traveling to remote depots for maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Australian Trade Qualifications as a Mechanic or international equivalent, experience working on buses would be advantageous
  • Drivers Licence is mandatory, Medium Rigid Heavy Vehicle license at minimum is preferred or willingness to obtain as soon as possible

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake day-to-day bus repair and maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of maintenance requirements to comply with Government accreditation standards.
  • Fulfill vehicle preventative maintenance schedules and requirements.
  • Liaise with Operations staff on vehicle availability against the maintenance schedule.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in vehicle systems.
  • Respond to and repair vehicle defects as notified by drivers.
  • Participate in training and staff meetings as required.
  • Be available for out-of-hours breakdowns and vehicle retrievals, if required.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the SA Fleet Maintenance Manager.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in the service and repair of vehicles.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with supervision while exercising initiative, judgment, and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to determine priorities, organize workloads, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and positive relationship-building skills with clients and staff at all levels.
