A fantastic opportunity exists for the right candidate to manage one of West Brisbane’s growing not-for-profit community clubs. BSCC has a number sporting fields across 5 hectares used by soccer, cricket, hockey, and other sports and local schools.  The club is licenced with 36 poker machines, a bar with TAB, and dining area with full commercial kitchen.  Our club membership is approximately 1,500.  As a quiet suburban club with limited competition, the opportunities for growth and development are huge. You only have to come and stand on the deck overlooking the fields to see what an attractive prospect this is.

To be successful in the application process you must be a hands-on front of house focused leader who motivates & inspires their team through their own personal customer focused approach.

This position will suit a “Publican” like character who is quick to build relationships with local patrons, develop new business through sporting clubs’ sponsorships & be willing to try new things to drive return on investment.

Whilst a large focus of this role is about assuring revenue the operator will be expected to be able to make commercial decisions on effective spending, marketing, compliance, safety & wage controls.

Being able to lead from the front is essential in this role and it is a mandatory requirement of this position that the successful applicant works peak periods to ensure that the venue is operating at its full potential with quality standards. * A performance bonus structure will be offered to the right candidate to encourage and recognise achievement of key outcomes.

Requirements

Candidates applying for this position must possess the following:

  • The ability to develop and maintain management teams – with passion and enthusiasm.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing a multi-faceted hospitality business.
  • The ability to build lasting local and community-based relationships.
  • Financial literacy – strong controls of margins, wages, and expenses, and the ability to read a P&L.
  • Experience of interacting with Xero accounting software would be advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of gaming, cash, stock, and licensing issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food, bar & gaming operations with evidence of the ability to drive top line revenue.
  • Experience in a Venue Manager role is advantageous.
  • Experience of managing a multi sport facility with knowledge of maintenance practices would be advantageous.
  • All candidates must possess RMLV and approved managers license and be eligible to be nominated for gaming operations.
