Are you ready to lead and innovate in the mining industry? We are seeking a dynamic Underground Product Manager and Mining Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree and certification or qualifications in mining engineering principles.

This role involves supporting Product Management for the Caterpillar Underground product line, while providing essential support to our sales team.

Location: South Guildford, WA

Roster: Monday - Friday, 8.5-hour days

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by Example: Embody our company values in every action and decision.
  • Safety First: Adhere to all safety policies and practices.
  • Under Ground Machine Strategy: Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, including New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Caterpillar Engagement: Collaborate with Caterpillar stakeholders.
  • Technical Sales Support: Provide technical support and foster strong customer relations.
  • Mine Engineering Expertise: Utilise data analytics to focus on application and performance.
  • Software Utilisation: Enhance productivity using mining design software.
  • Support Studies: Assist in production and application studies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and promote improvement projects.
  • Data Analytics: Analyse machine performance and make recommendations.
  • Technology Use: Employ mining software and equipment technologies.
  • Cost Estimation & Planning: Apply knowledge of cost estimation and mine planning principles.
  • Fleet Recommendations: Identify optimal equipment for specific mining applications.
  • Sales Support: Guide the sales team with application, productivity and performance insights.

To be successful the following is required:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Mine Production, coupled with post-qualification experience, including exposure in an open pit mining environment.
  • Deep understanding of mining planning, production, operations, and processes (fleet planning, load and haul, drill and blast, mine operations).
  • Proficiency in mining or civil simulation software (e.g., Caterpillar FPC, RP Global - FPSim, Haul Infinity).
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities.
  • Proven track record in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Proficient in conducting current state assessments, troubleshooting, process mapping, and business analysis.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage with new and existing customers and collaborate with the wider Mining Team.
  • IT proficiency in Microsoft Office and Mine Design and Production software.
  • Strong written and presentation skills, comfortable with public speaking.
  • Demonstrated understanding of safe work practices within a mining environment.
