Launceston - Hotel Restaurant - Sous Chef (Salaried)

I am recruiting for a Sous Chef to join our brigade. We operate breakfast and dinner 365 (employee implications being to achieve full time hours split shifts and or prep & cleaning outside service periods may be required). Non-negotiable is a commitment to Wednesday to Sunday dinner service.

Food provenance is important to you as is the story you talk to in plating up for our guests. You would have appropriate qualifications, ie Certificate IV or Diploma in Commercial Cookery, and current Food Safety Supervisor qualifications. Also, you MUST live in Launceston (or if choosing to move - have a place to live in Launceston sorted) , can work legally in Australia, and have transport to work. Im not sponsoring visas, attending to relocation, accepting 8 week travelling, or 6 month working holiday applicants.

Key duties include:

Come and have some fun at work; we keep it professional but treat our guests as we would if they were invited into our own home.
Cooking and preparing food
Developing a menu engineering with Chef
Purchasing ingredients
Demonstrating cooking techniques and procedures
Maintaining hygiene standards (yes this includes doing dishes)
Managing an efficient kitchen workflow
Supervising other cooks and kitchen staff
Using and maintaining kitchen equipment
