Site Manager - Regional Travel

We are seeking a Site Manager for Regional Works. This role will involve travel to regional sites, with responsibility for projects running up to 20 weeks in duration.

The Site Manager Role:
The Site Manager position will have you take ownership of site safety management, developing short and medium range construction programmes as you coordinate sub-contractors to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality construction work. You will work closely with our team to pre-empt and resolve construction issues on site and to maintain progress in line with the construction programme and HSEQ deliverables.
You'll be managing refurb and fit out projects up to $10 million in value, across our defence, education and commercial portfolio.
A day at work can include:
- Running a team effectively and achieving set goals in a high-pressure environment
- Scheduling trades in a logical and appropriate order to meet programme deadlines
- Day-to-day supervision of the site, suppliers and trades
- Maintaining and communicating a project schedule / programme
- Quality assurance checks and identifying defects on completed works.
- Managing rectification of defects
- Reading and interpreting plans and drawings
- Completing site diaries and reporting requirements using Hammertech software
- Conducting site meetings - toolbox talks, HSEQ issues etc.
- Maintaining compliance with all HSEQ requirements
To be considered for the role of a Baseline Site Manager you will require:
- Demonstrated experience in a Site Manager role outside of the residential space
- Ability and willingness to work in remote regional locations for extended durations
- Strong communication, across emails and phone
- An understanding of buildability, and how to manage the issues that may happen on site during a construction project
- Experience with roofing, or working at heights, strongly preferred
- Construction General Induction (White Card)
- A proven ability to work as a part of, and guide, a diverse and multicultural team
- A passion for construction with an eye for detail and pride in your workmanship
- Enthusiasm to learn & accept new challenges and skill sets
- Strong safety focus, with knowledge of Hammertech, or similar software
- Cert IV in Building and Construction, or WHS highly advantageous.
