We are looking for a full-time qualified Motor Mechanic (or third year apprentice) to service and repair fleet and plant. Out fleet consists of vehicles, trucks and heavy earth moving equipment.  The ideal candidate will at least five years prior experience working in the industry. 

The successful candidate will be reliable, self-motivated, efficient, and have an excellent work ethic. Current driver's license is a must and additional licenses would be an advantage.

 

You will be required to undertake the following duties.

  • Fault diagnosis of vehicles, trucks and plant.
  • Analyse faults, calculate repairs and provide the best possible solution
  • Conduct mechanical repairs include periodic servicing, brake repair, clutches, and timing belt repair/replacement on different makes and models.
  • Inspect and run diagnostic tests to discover functional issues.
  • Dismantle and replace or repair the defective part or equipment.
  • Change engine and transmission oils as well as hydraulic fluids.
  • Conduct quality checks before returning vehicles.
  • Adhere to and follow work safety guidelines, report any hazards, and perform general housekeeping and workshop maintenance.
  • Train other workshop staff.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Certificate III + 2 Years on the Job Training
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Experience in Heavy Vehicles (Truck & Plant) is highly regarded but not essential 
  • Excellence in, attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Award but negotiable and commensurate with experience

Schedule: 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm
