About the role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement & Logistics Manager to join our dynamic and expanding team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement within the Company. This role is integral in aligning our supply chain strategy with our business objectives, ensuring efficient sourcing of materials, cost-effective purchasing, and timely delivery of goods and services.
Your responsibilities will include:

Procurement Management
- Manage the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement for the Company
- Implement strong procurement strategies to maintain security of supply and optimum value for money
- Perform the general procurement and contracting activities, including supplier and contractor pre-qualification
- Oversee daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing of Purchase Orders, delivery, collection and transport schedules
- Co-ordination of stores activities through receipting, packaging, storing, delivery and collection of goods
- Facilitate control of all free issue material
- Monitor all outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries. Set guidelines, implement changes and develop new processes for delivering a commercial and cost-effective procuring process for the business
- Annual evaluation of supplier performances
- Resolving supplier queries
- Manage stores receiving, component kitting, dispatch and quarantining
- Responsible for implementing internal procurement strategies to cater to high-delivery and short lead-time requirements
- Managing miscellaneous and impromptu purchasing changes, logistical changes, and/or equipment hires
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and areas for improvement to achieve financial goals
- Ensure cost-effective procurement of all materials and services
- Use ERP system to track all movements of consumables and stock items
- Ensure timely re-ordering and re-stocking of inventory to meet supply requirements
- Populate the Bill of Materials (BOM), read and interpret technical drawings
- Manage stocktakes and undertake regular stock adjustments

Administration, Financial & Business Improvement Management
- Assist in the preparation and collation of business tenders and grant applications

Stakeholder Management
- Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best price, quality and service
- Direct stores in arranging returns/exchanges of incorrect/damaged items sent/supplied
- Build supplier relationships and liaise with suppliers
What we'll be looking for in you:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain or Sales Engineer role
- A qualification in Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain will be highly beneficial to your application
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience using an ERP System
- Advanced level in MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with procurement of specialised fittings to be used in the manufacturing process
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to train and mentor others.
