About the Role:
As part of our growing team, you will be working to provide vital healthcare and therapeutic services in remote areas of Australia. Your responsibilities will include:
- Occupational Therapists (OT): Conducting assessments, developing therapy plans, and supporting clients with daily living activities.
- Speech Pathologists: Providing speech and language therapy, conducting assessments, and supporting communication development.
- Social Workers: conduct assessments to identify factors contributing to offending behaviour and develop individual rehabilitation plans focusing on education, employment, and reintegration. Provide counselling and therapy to address issues like substance abuse, trauma, and mental health. Collaborates with schools, families, and local services, advocate in legal proceedings, and liaise with probation officers and courts. Monitor progress and provide recommendations to relevant authorities.
- Mental Health Nurses: Providing mental health assessments, treatments, and support for individuals and communities in need.
- Psychologists: Delivering psychological assessments, therapy, and mental health support to clients in a remote setting, behaviour training for management and strategies of behaviour of concern etc.
- Behavioural specialist: assesses behaviours, designs intervention plans, implements strategies, and monitors progress. Collaborate with clients, families, and professionals to encourage positive behavioural changes and promote emotional well-being.
Key Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications and professional registration in your home country and Australian registration board
- Previous experience in your field, with a strong preference for experience in rural or remote areas.
- Passion for making a positive impact in under-served communities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Cultural Competency: Understanding Aboriginal cultures, histories, and social/health challenges.
- Cultural Safety: Respecting traditional customs and addressing issues like intergenerational trauma.
- Community Engagement: Building trust and collaborating using culturally appropriate methods.
- Collaboration: Working with Aboriginal Health Workers and local services.
- Cultural Humility: Listening to and learning from Aboriginal people.
- Rural/Remote Experience: Understanding the challenges of working in remote Aboriginal communities.
