The Wray Hotel Fremantle, an award-winning venue, is seeking a passionate and motivated Operations Manager to join our vibrant team on a full-time basis. Located in the heart of Fremantle, The Wray Hotel is a dynamic and welcoming pub renowned for its casual dining, lively sports entertainment, and community-focused atmosphere.

We are seeking an experienced professional for this role who is ready to take on the challenge of driving operational excellence. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.  

Key Duties:

  • Manage a team of up to 30 staff, including training, rostering, and on-shift supervision.
  • Oversee all FOH (Front of House) operational aspects of the business.
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S and Food Hygiene standards through regular audits.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and revenue while managing costs effectively.
  • Deliver superior service to create outstanding guest experiences.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, leading by example as a senior leader.
  • Step into any role as needed during shifts to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Licensee and run daily operations efficiently.
  • Lead the team in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Manage all aspects of a busy pub, including bar, gaming, and sports bar operations.
  • Plan and manage functions and events.
  • Implement and monitor operational processes for consistency and quality.
  • Manage staff rosters according to business needs.
  • Maintain venue appearance and coordinate maintenance as required.
  • Manage and run the floor, Onboard, train, and develop team members to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Handle cash operations, including reconciliation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as an Operations Manager or Venue Manager. 
  • Proven ability to train and mentor staff.
  • Strong knowledge of pub operations, gaming, and sports bar environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Proficiency in cash handling and reconciliation.
  • Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and Approved Manager certifications.
