About the role: 
The Office Supervisor must be adaptable and willing to take on the roles of their team members at short notice.  This may mean filling in on the phone, prepping some notes or scanning notes into the Digital Medical Record.  All of the actions of the Supervisor support service provision and the team to provide the best outcome for our patients and those that are depending on our service.


The Office Supervisor coordinates staffing over the 2 sites and ensures that both units' function effectively to provide a high-quality ongoing service.  Staffing and Human Resource issues are a major component of the role and ensure that the production component of the service runs smoothly. The Office Supervisor works closely with the CIS Service Manager and any support or assistance is provided by them in the first instance.  Training and Orientation is also provided by the Service Manager, and ongoing education is available on the internal My Health Learning website.

  • You are friendly and adaptable and be willing to understand and undertake all of the roles within the unit.



Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or working towards the same and/or extensive experience in a similar position. 



Where you'll be working:
Clinical Information Services are based at the John Hunter Hospital.  This service covers medical record related processing for both JHH and Belmont Hospitals and staff rotate between the 2 sites. John Hunter Hospital (JHH) is a 24-hour 7 day a week service and the culture is one of a supportive friendly environment that converts paper-based records into a digital system (DMR),

  • This is the largest Clinical Information Department in the Local Health District (LHD). This is an opportunity to work for the largest local health district in NSW which services a population of more than 900,000 across the Hunter, New England and Lower Mid North Coast areas.
  • John Hunter Hospital is a Level 6, tertiary referral, major trauma and teaching hospital and is the largest hospital in the Hunter New England Local Health District. HNELHD has strong, innovative connections with the University of Newcastle and Hunter Medical Research Institute.
