An exciting position has become available for an enthusiastic and passionate Junior Claims Consultant to join an established team. To deliver a superior claims service, determining proper policy coverage to evaluate and conclude assigned cases.

This role will therefore attractive someone who enjoys dealing with a varied customer base and thrives on providing exceptional Customer Service.

The ideal candidate will have an adaptable skill set, able to move autonomously between different lines of business as well as navigate different customer groups, including intermediated to the direct customer

 

Responsibilities

  • Obtain details required to assess the validity of claims and identify the parties responsible for accidents, damage, and loss, with an understanding of the processes of claim lodgement and validation.
  • Interpret basic policy coverage, and determine if coverage applies to claims submitted, escalating issues as needed.
  • Allocate external assessments and interpret reporting where required and manage the fulfilment of a claim by co-ordinating satisfactory completion of repairs.
  • Collect our customer’s excess, set reserves, and raise payments within scope of authority, processing basic claims in the most cost-effective manner, and ensure timely issuance of disbursements - while understanding how GST and ITC impact those payments.
  • Address a range of matters raised by customers to support the provision of a high standard of customer service, including responding to, and escalating any client issues accordingly.
  • Be proficient in the complaints handling process.

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Manage a portfolio of claims such as:
  • Motor claims, including glass and single vehicle accidents
  • Home claims, including contents and simple building repairs
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn components of the insurance industry, regulatory & compliance environment and claims processes.
  • Actively provide customer service to customers, including building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote teamwork by working cooperatively with colleagues in a spirit of support and respect of others, sharing knowledge and skills to build a learning environment.
  • Develop skills to be more proficient in your role.
