COLAS Australia has continued to expand its operations throughout Australia with the acquisition of a number of local companies and is now supported by over 500 employees across 30 work sites in 5 states.
The Role
We are currently seeking a HR Generalist to join our team, based in Winston Hills. Reporting to the Group HR Manager, this diverse role will see the successful applicant play a crucial role in supporting various HR activities.
Key to successful selection in this position will be the ability to relate and communicate at all levels of our business, from blue collar worker, supervisor, manager and Senior Management.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships & partner with managers to provide advice on all employee relations and HR matters
- Assist Group HR Manager with Enterprise Agreement procedures
- Ensure internal compliance and accuracy on all Employment Agreements and Position Descriptions for all employees
- Can manipulate data in MS Office tools for reporting purposes
- Assist with developing and/or maintaining HR policies and procedures
- Provide ongoing training to managers and staff on existing policies and procedures
- Assist with coaching managers on Performance Management procedures
- Assist with managing underperformance
- Maintain company visa sponsorships & facilitate visa applications as required
- Assist Group Recruitment Specialist with advertising & screening as required
- Assist with any ad-hoc training programming needs
Who should apply:
- If you have relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources with previous experience in a Generalist position
- You will have outstanding communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to suit the audience and our industry
- You work well in a small, supportive team where each day is never the same and surprises are likely
- You can navigate the relationships between Contracts, Awards & Enterprise Agreements
- Multi-tasking and prioritising is in your skillset
- Ability to travel interstate as required
