COLAS Australia has continued to expand its operations throughout Australia with the acquisition of a number of local companies and is now supported by over 500 employees across 30 work sites in 5 states. 

 

The Role

We are currently seeking a HR Generalist to join our team, based in Winston Hills. Reporting to the Group HR Manager, this diverse role will see the successful applicant play a crucial role in supporting various HR activities.

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Assist with compiling HR objectives, initiatives, targets, and budgeting
  • Develop strong relationships & partner with managers to provide advice on all employee relations and HR matters
  • Assist Group HR Manager with Enterprise Agreement procedures
  • Maintain Employment Agreements and Position Descriptions for all employees
  • Assist with HR reporting as required
  • Assist with developing and/or maintaining HR policies and procedures
  • Provide ongoing training to managers and staff on existing policies and procedures
  • Assist with coaching managers on Performance Management procedures
  • Assist with managing underperformance
  • Maintain company visa sponsorships & facilitate visa applications as required in consultation with HR Manager Contracting
  • Assist Group Recruitment Specialist with advertising & screening as required
  • Assist the L&D Manager with any ad-hoc programming needs

 

The Ideal Candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources with previous experience in a Generalist position
  • Ability to relate at all levels in the organisation and provide advice & guidance as required 
  • An understanding of the relationships between Contracts, Awards & Enterprise Agreements
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Competent use of computer systems
  • Ability to travel interstate as required
