GWS Automotive Group is a large family owned multi brand automotive retail, service and parts dealer. We have a proud 50 year history with a number of dealerships based in the south east melbourne region with this position based at our Springvale dealership. We offer an excellent modern office environment with approximately 250 employees including a number of long serving managers and staff.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced HR and Payroll Manager to join our team in Springvale. This role offers a blend of HR and payroll responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Manager

  • Ensure end-to-end accurate and timely weekly payroll processing.
  • Address payroll-related questions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain payroll records, leave entitlements, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Generate payroll reports, leave balance reports, and other reports as needed.

HR Manager

  • Update and maintain employee records and files on the Unipay, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Assist with recruitment tasks, including scheduling interviews and preparing employment contracts.
  • Administer employee onboarding and offboarding to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Perform document verifications to ensure compliance with role-specific requirements.
  • Review company policies, position descriptions, and areas of continuous improvement.
  • Handle and complete employee complaints procedures, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with company protocols.
  • Perform additional HR duties as assigned.

About You

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in managing Unipay and payroll systems, with strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • High level of attention to detail in managing and documenting employee data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, superannuation legislation, and the interpretation of awards and legislative requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work autonomously, and collaborate effectively within deadlines.
  • Understanding of Right to Work requirements for visa applicants and sponsorship is preferred.
