Responsibilities:
As the Head Chef, you will oversee the culinary operations of Peko Peko Dunsborough, ensuring the highest standards of quality, creativity, and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:
- Menu Development: Designing and creating menus that reflect the unique character of our business, considering seasonality, dietary requirements, and guest preferences.
- Kitchen Management: Leading a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and motivation to ensure smooth operations and consistent delivery of exceptional dishes.
- Food Preparation: Overseeing all aspects of food preparation, including cooking techniques, portion control, and plating, to ensure the highest quality and presentation standards.
- Quality Assurance: Implementing and maintaining strict hygiene and food safety protocols, adhering to local regulations and best practices.
- Inventory Control: Managing food inventory, minimising wastage, and ensuring optimal stock levels through effective ordering and storage practices.
- Cost Control: Collaborating with the Restaurant Manager and Operations Manager to develop and manage budgets, optimising ingredient usage, and controlling expenses to achieve profitability goals.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef.
- Exceptional culinary skills with a demonstrated ability to create innovative and delectable dishes.
- Strong leadership and management abilities, with experience in leading and motivating a diverse team.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with different departments.
- Creativity and passion for culinary arts, staying updated with industry.
