GBP Australia Pty Ltd is a leading export abattoir in the South Gippsland region. We are currently looking for a skilled General Mechanic to join our team and support the maintenance and repair of various machinery used in our operations.

About the Role

As a General Mechanic, you will be responsible for fixing and repairing machinery essential to our abattoir operations. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Welding, fitting, and turning
• Boiler maintenance and repairs
• Working with rendering and water purification systems
• Maintaining and repairing processing lines, conveyors, and freezing/chiller system pipes
• Handling repairs in cattle yards and other facility infrastructure

Skills & Experience

• Experience as a Welder, Fitter and Turner, or Boilermaker is highly regarded
• Experience in ship mechanics is a plus
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Certifications & Licenses

• Welding certification is a great advantage but not mandatory

Visa Sponsorship & Career Pathway

• The company offers a 4-year visa sponsorship
• After completing 4 years, you will have the opportunity to apply for permanent residency
