Gateway Group is a locally owned company with workshops based in High Wycombe & Malaga. Operating since 2003, we have a high degree of experience in the chrome plating and engineering field. Specialising in Hydraulic Cylinder repairs for Mining, Civil, Earthmoving, Construction and Oil & Gas. 
 

About the role
An exciting career opportunity is now available for a First Class Welder to join our dynamic team, at our newly opened workshop in High Wycombe. 
 

The ideal candidate must be able to.

• Mig and Tig, FCAW, welding steel, Cast Iron and Bronze laying on steel, 
• Welding cylinder barrels, rods, gland, piston and some general fabrication, 
• Experienced or keen to learn ID welding of  barrel and rod eyes,
• Capable of producing X-ray and Ultrasonic (UT) quality welds,
• Arc-Pneumatic gouging

Previous experience in welding hydraulic cylinders and components not a requirement but advantageous.
 

Additionally, you will be required to maintain safe work practices and a safe work environment. 

An average working week is around 50 hours - Monday to Friday. Option of weekend work or afternoon shift available

Skills and experience

• Welding Trade Qualification is a must
• A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work unsupervised
• Sound experience in welding hydraulic cylinder components (desirable but not a must)
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of Quality Control
• Proficient in MIG skills
• The ability to show initiative
• Valid Driver’s licence
• Be able to pass a medical including D&A
