We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to carry out effective and timely repairs on customer hardware and software on site. You will also be responsible for providing support for preventative and breakdown maintenance and post-sale support for a broad range of thermal printing, marking and coding technologies. The role will also require occasional work outside of business hours and have the ability to undertake some travel within the state.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers, completing preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and planned services.
  • Proactively maintain and comply with travel and work schedules.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service and seek opportunities to strengthen partnerships.
  • Follow escalation path for unresolved technical problems.
  • Provide technical support for team members (Interstate where required) and the internal Projects/Sales teams.
  • Perform a monthly stock take of all spares held in the service vehicle.
  • Complete Vehicle + OH&S Checklist Monthly and comply with all safety requirements.
  • Act as a point of contact for technical customer questions.
  • Comply with all on/off-site requirements/standards and inductions.
  • Support the business to ensure the highest standard and quality of service is provided to our customers.

 

About you

  • 3 – 5 years experience in a field service engineer / technician role
  • Well-developed troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, coupled with a strong passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and test/inspection equipment.
  • Ability to utilise a range of business and ERP software (including MS Office, CRM, Dynamic365 and Business Central).
  • Capable of excelling both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to different working environments or work effectively under pressure from client sites to remote areas, handling various types of machinery and systems.
  • Current open motor vehicle license
