About the role

We are currently seeking a full-time exceptional Experienced Farmhand to assist with the day-to-day running of our dryland, zero till, grain farm. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role as an important team member within our family run agricultural business in the Dalby, Queensland region. 

Your main responsibility will be to support the farm managers with the coordination and execution of day-to-day farm operations.

What you'll be doing

• Assist in the execution of field operations, including planting, fertilising, and harvesting crops
• Operate farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed
• Ensure that all farm activities comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements
• Monitor crop health by identifying signs of pests and report findings to the agronomist and Farm Manager for appropriate action
• Operate and maintain trucks to transport grain and fertiliser to depots and on farm as required

What we're looking for

• A current, valid Multi Combination (MC) driver's licence
• Capability to operate autonomous farm machinery
• Previous experience working operating trucks in a farm or rural setting
• Current tractor operating and spraying experience
• Evidence of mechanically minded and experience
• Forklift license or willingness to obtain
• Chemical certificate or willingness to obtain
• Problem-solving mindset and a keen attention to detail
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Good physical fitness to handle the demands of the role: non smoker
• A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
