Civil Construction Company seeking a Engineering Manager to become a key part in shaping the future of our business alongside an experienced team.
You will be based on our Brisbane projects and employed on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the project management teams to deliver projects that span across one or more sectors across the company.
About the Role:
- Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
- Lead and mentor the current Project Managers developing key relationship’s and promoting team building
- Analysis of project information (contract documents/ drawings/ specifications/ statutory approvals/ etc.) to allow preparation of programs, work break down structures, estimates and budgets
- Developing and implementing strategies for efficient project execution and on-time delivery
- Risk management with a focus on safety and commercial (contract management)
- Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one or more initiatives simultaneously
- Prepare and present project startup, progress and close out reports for the client and executive management team
- Working with the client to resolve technical, commercial and scheduling issues
- Reviewing and approving subcontract and supplier invoices and monthly claims
- Ability to manage project expenditure and cash flow
- Ensuring project portfolio is managed on budget, completed on time and delivered to a high quality
- Experience with project programming, cost and quality control, procurement and supplier engagement
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar is desirable - alternatively, extensive Project Management experience in the civil industry will be considered
- Minimum 10 years experience on civil infrastructure projects
- Experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance
- Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving complex problems, decision making and identifying priorities within your team.
- Experienced in Programming & Cost Control
