The opportunity
We are seeking skilled Electrical Engineering Technicians to join diverse maintenance teams. These roles play a key part in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing electrical and automation systems within a dynamic production environment. Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for plant electrical and automation systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve faults to minimize downtime and maintain operational readiness.
- Design, configure, and maintain control systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Integrate automation systems into production environments to ensure seamless operation.
- Perform inspections, testing, and commissioning of new and refurbished equipment to meet engineering standards.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines and participate in audits, shutdowns, and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
- Document maintenance activities and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
About you
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or related qualification.
- Registered Master Electrician (Australia or overseas).
- Certification in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Mitsubishi, or GX Works).
- Strong problem-solving skills with expertise in troubleshooting complex systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively within a team.
- Knowledge of WHS regulations and safety best practices in maintenance operations.
- Previous experience in automation or food production environments is an advantage.
