The Saudi Tourism Authority was established in 2020 as the official promoter of Visit Saudi to support the growth of the travel and tourism sector. It serves the needs of tourism companies and other commercial partners as part of Vision 2030.

Responsibilities:

Annual Planning and Commercial Development 

• Work closely with the Market Director to develop commercial strategies for the annual trade marketing business plan in Australia to ensure meeting visitation and spend targets. 

• Drive business development by identifying new opportunities to increase visitation and spend from the leisure, spiritual, corporate and MICE segments. 

• Conduct market research and analysis to create strategic commercial plans focused on new trade partnerships, business development, fam trips and sponsorships. 

• Leverage industry relationships to increase STA’s brand presence across the travel trade ecosystem in Australia. 

• Identify potential channels to improve business operations and trade awareness to ensure competitiveness amongst long haul destination markets. 

• Monitor trends and maintain knowledge about current industry updates, practices, laws and regulations and monitor local / federal regulations. 

• Perform in market research and analysis on threats and opportunities 

 

Performance Management and Operations 

• Oversee the execution of STA’s Australia trade market strategy across all channels.

• Manage and oversee daily departmental operations (trade engagement, invoices, co-op marketing, events, reports, etc.) 

• Create departmental SOPs to ensure coordinated process and smooth operations. 

• Monitor departmental performance and prepare periodic reports on the performance of the local market to Head O)ice. 

• Track, measure and analyze the performance of commercial activities and KPIs to ensure the budget spend is delivering the agreed return on investment. 

• Manage and track expenditures, financial goals and budgets.

• Review and develop operational processes to improve performance and maximize growth. 

Requirements and skills 

• Previous work experience as a commercial head / senior manager at a Tourism board or related travel / tourism business for (10) years. 

• Strong track record of managing relationships with key tourism and travel trade partners in Australia. 

• Expertise in creating commercial and marketing strategies related to the travel and tourism industry. 

• In depth knowledge of travel trade market research methods and analysis. 

• Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial / budgeting processes. 

• Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset. 

• Excellent organizational, leadership skills and time management skills.

• Outstanding communication, interpersonal abilities and presentation skills.
