Our Client, a world leading Tier 1 Iron Ore Producer based in the Pilbara are currently seeking Contract Specialists to join their Sustaining Capital Project Teams. 
  
The roles are for an initial duration of 12 months with the possibility of an extension. The positions will play a crucial role in developing and shaping construction project contracting strategies as well as engaging and managing the contracting partners for respective Project from inception to close out.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated construction project experience, a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of procurement best practices, in an end-to-end contracting environment.

Expectations for the role include:
  • Demonstrate the application of our client's values of courage, care and curiosity
  • Support complex and large capital projects for Sustaining Capital, providing sound commercial advice to the delivery team;
  • Conduct sourcing activities including strategy development, negotiation and implementation of master services of agreements (panel contracts) construction, supply and consultancy contracts;
  • Perform contract management activities including contract compliance, claim assessments and dispute resolutions promptly and effectively;
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to think independently;
  • Development and delivery of the project sourcing strategy;
  • Develop and maintain proactive, values-based relationships with the Sustaining Capital Project Delivery Team and contracting partners across the relevant project;
  • Perform contract management activities including contract compliance, claim assessments and dispute resolutions promptly and effectively; and
  • Collaborate effectively across our Sustaining Capital Procurement team and the wider RTP group, seeking to drive value and leverage synergies where possible.
The successful applicant will have:
  • Proven ability in managing end to end procurement activities for capital contracts
  • Focus and ability to deliver construction projects safely in the Pilbara
  • Proven ability in managing end to end procurement activities for capital contracts;
  • Tendering, evaluation, contract drafting and negotiation experience;
  • Sound ability on claims management and determining effective commercial outcomes;
  • Proactive management of stakeholders and an ability to build strong relationships;
  • Ability to successfully manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Proven track record of achieving outcomes through negotiation, influencing and collaboration; and
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
