About Us:
Breakfast Point Country Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef with a passion for creating exceptional food. Our private members club offers breakfast and lunch daily, dinner twice a week, and operates a summer kiosk by the pool. We also host a variety of member events, weddings, and other special functions.
About the Role:
In this role, you will support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistently high-quality food presentation and taste. As a Junior Sous Chef, you’ll be instrumental in managing kitchen staff, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Your responsibilities will also include inventory management, training, and mentoring junior kitchen team members to foster a positive, collaborative work environment. This role is ideal for a creative, organized, and enthusiastic leader eager to deliver a memorable dining experience to our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily kitchen operations and ensure top-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Assist the Head Chef in delegating tasks and overseeing kitchen staff to meet service demands.
- Inspect and manage deliveries to ensure product quality, accuracy, and proper storage.
- Adhere to established cleaning protocols to maintain a safe, hygienic kitchen.
- Collaborate with front-line staff to accommodate service times, dietary needs, and special requests.
Why You Should Apply:
We are looking for someone who has:
- Suitably qualified and with at least 3 years of experience in a café or restaurant setting, with exposure to breakfast, lunch, à la carte dining, and events.
- A minimum of 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with an enthusiastic approach.
- A current Food Safety Supervisor certification.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- An interest in progressing to a Sous Chef position.
Requirements:
- Applicants must have permanent residency or a full-time Australian work visa. This is a long-term position, so working holiday or student visas are not suitable.
- Sponsorship is available through Community Plan DP270347 for qualified candidates.
