The restaurant seeks an experienced Chef de partie / Chef to work in a fast-paced environment. Our team is an established one; we value our staff just as much as our loyal customers.

Summary of Position:

• Help plan menus, ordering of food
• Making sure meals are presented correctly before they go out to the customer
• Discussing food preparation issues with Management, kitchen and waiting staff
• Preparing and cooking food
• Enforcing hygiene regulation
• Oversee hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen
• Prepare and plate dishes
• Have an input into menu design
•  

To be successful in the role, you will need to have the following qualifications:

• At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

Duties:

• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with Managers,  kitchen and waiting staff
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Preparing and cooking food
• Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
• May select and train staff

Requirements:

• Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene and OH&S Standards
• A professional presentation and approach
• A passion for food
• Ability to work closely with management to ensure the consistent high quality service is provided
• A positive attitude with a strong work ethic and good communication skills
• Ability to work well within a team environment and under pressure
• Be available to work days, nights and weekends and have your own reliable transport
• Innovative and organized
