Surfish located in Bondi Beach is looking for a qualified and experienced cook to join the team.  We are a busy restaurant serving high volume of quality and fresh food menu to our guests. This is a busy position and will require applicant who has previous experience in a similar role. We value teamwork and are looking for a qualified and experienced Cook to join our team.

To be successful in this role you must have a minimum 2 years work experience in a busy kitchen environment. Completed Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification as well as knowledge of all kitchen operation, quality assurance and OH&S.

About the Role:

Your duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Create and prepare high-quality dishes with a focus on innovation and taste.

• Maintain standards for food storage

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

• 2 years + experiences in a professional kitchen

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong understanding of produce, stock control, culinary techniques and kitchen equipment

• The ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere

• Complete all work responsibilities and assignments in a timely manner.

• Competently cook breakfast, lunch and dinner services and function menu.

• Anticipate and attend to the guest’s requirements and desires immediately.

• Demonstrate superior recipe knowledge for every item on the restaurant’s menus

• Ensure full implementation of HACCP code of practice

• Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members

• Maintain high standards and lead by example

About you

The successful candidate must satisfy the following criteria:

- Minimum 2 years experience as a cook in a busy restaurant.

- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and methods especially with seafood.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills.

- Ability to work with team, under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Culinary degree Certificate III level or equivalent certification preferred.

- Candidates with Australian citizens or permanent residency will be preferred.
