We looking for a Chef to take responsibility for all food preparation and provide excellent leadership to the kitchen & kitchen staff acting as Head Chef.
This is a permanent full-time position and candidates should be able to work on the weekend. two weekdays off.
Minimum 2 years experience required. If you are someone who has a passion for quality food & plating and looking for stable long-term job then we would like you to apply.
Major Duties and Responsibilities of Position:
· Support Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities at the kitchen
· Support Constructing menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
· Coordinate with management efficiently and effectively including stock control, following cleaning schedules, periodic maintenance schedules, and maintenance of food services equipment.
· ensure all dishes are appropriate before they reach the customer.
· Ensure the food is cooked in a timely manner.
. Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.
. Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods.
. Present, garnish and arrange final dishes.
. Occasionally serve food.
· Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages.
· Projects a friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude at all times.
· Inform wait staff about daily specials.
· Have to possess a creative flair and superb presentation skills.
· Strong customer service focus.
· Ordering and food cost control, Monitor of all food supplies as per schedule including stock rotation and management.
· Maintaining the Food Safety Program guidelines & Ensuring all staff maintain safe food handling practices.
· Provide regular reports and updates to the Employer.
· Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
· Relevant Trade Qualification.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in the similar capacity or as Chef / AQF Certificate IV or higher
· Thrive under pressure.
· Good organisation skills, strong ability to follow systems, reliable, punctual and level-headed under pressure.
· Meticulous attention to detail and ability to achieve highest standards of food quality.
· Knowledge, implementation and upkeep health & safety procedures.
· Ability to resolve conflict and problems in a constructive manner.
· Ability to delegate tasks in an effective manner.
· Share your skills and have a desire to teach your staff.
· No Criminal record. Must have a clean character.
