Assistant Manager – Audit

About the Firm:
Join a well-established firm with a strong global and local presence, known for its stable culture and supportive management. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Manager in audit to lead engagements or a senior auditor with 4+ years of experience who is ready to take the next step, having worked on complex audits and higher-level testing. Experience auditing ASX-listed clients will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Audit Engagements: Plan, execute, and finalize audits in accordance with firm and regulatory standards.
  • Client Interaction: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential—you will liaise directly with clients, presenting findings and offering advisory insights.
  • Risk Assessment & Compliance: Identify key risks, assess internal controls, and ensure compliance with Australian Auditing Standards.
  • Team Supervision: Manage, coach, and review the work of junior auditors to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Technical Proficiency: Stay up to date with evolving accounting and auditing standards to provide the best client solutions.
  • Financial Management: Assist with budgeting, billing, and ensuring audit efficiency.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Qualifications: CA/CPA (or working towards) and a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of recent external audit experience in Australia or a similar jurisdiction.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are non-negotiable—you must be confident in liaising with clients and stakeholders.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in auditing software and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Leadership & Initiative: Ability to lead teams, manage multiple engagements, and problem-solve effectively.
