This role sits in the Partnerships and Engagement team and supports the Senior Manager Partnership in expanding services for the Defence community by identifying and managing external partnerships within RSL Queensland’s peer-led program portfolio. RSL Peer-Led Programs offer mental health and wellbeing support for veterans and their families and are guided by others with similar experiences. These programs include Timor Awakening, PTSD Resurrected, Waves of Wellness and Happy Paws Happy Hearts to name a few.
This role oversees the portfolio delivery, serves as the main point of contact for stakeholders, promotes programs internally and externally, and fosters collaboration to maximise the return on investment for RSL Queensland.

In this role, you will have the proven ability to:
- Ensure programs within the partnership portfolio meet contract terms, timelines, and deliverables, including sponsorship benefits and contract renewals.
- Act as the first point of contact for stakeholders, handling program onboarding, updates, and addressing enquiries.
- Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships with programs to drive RSL Queensland strategic objectives and enhance program impact.
- Manage program financials, including sponsorship payments, within a budget, ensuring compliance with agreements.
- Collaborate with RSL Queensland marketing to develop impactful campaigns to drive program awareness and engagement.
- Manage all portfolio reporting requirements providing data-driven insights to enable regular review of delivery objectives.
- Attend and present at program activities and events, promoting RSL Queensland services, sometimes outside regular hours.
- Support program growth by identifying opportunities for geographic expansion and assisting with contract negotiations.
- Organise and execute events to promote collaboration and achieve RSL Queensland’s strategic objectives.
- Ability to identify new opportunities to expand the portfolio including managing incoming requests, understanding program criteria and engaging with potential new partners.
- Support the Partnerships team to deliver activities to external stakeholders to support sector engagement.
What’s required to succeed:

Additionally, key qualities for this role include being self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to work flexibly.
You will also have:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an account management or stakeholder engagement style role
- Degree qualified in business or marketing-related disciplines preferred but prior work experience will also be considered.
- Proven ability to drive stakeholder engagement strategies and campaigns, including managing all communication with the stakeholder
- Ability to build rapport and maintain beneficial partnerships
- Ability to leverage relationships to maximise return on investments and support wider department initiatives
- Proven ability to identify organisations and relationships that will serve the objectives of the department and meet organisational objectives
- Ability to work to deadlines and a self-driven attitude
- Attention to detail with clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact at all levels of the organisation
- Capable to undertake travel within Queensland predominantly but also interstate when required
- Queensland Open Drivers licence
- Ability to be flexible and willing to work outside of normal business hours.
